Season One / Re: MINUTES
« on: September 22, 2022, 06:13:05 pm »
The minimum value of the players saved is £24m so bear that in mind so all of a sudden these teams are getting £48m - £72m in compensation for ignoring the rules. In addition playing stronger players at the expense of the lower skills meant more abs on those players too so strengthens the sides that benefit from this new rule. Not forgetting the games they will have won at the expense of the three teams that weakened their team in games.

I think 1000abs is actually too low based on the impact to these three sides.

Better still and as said in my first post, let the rules stay as they were defined at the beginning and any player that has not hit his minutes is released without compensation. It is only the truly fair outcome.

Change for next season by all means so we're all in the same boat but not at the end of the season.

I assume teams that managed their minutes well get a reward too - perhaps 1000 abs to distribute amongst their team?

Only really fair given those sides weakened their teams to make sure all players hit their quota, yet others get rewarded.

Better still, let's revert to what the rules state. We all knew what was required but those teams that ignored it were able to play a stronger side in matches, get more abs on the better players. These players should not be able to be saved.

Yerevan Stealth 3 - 0 Manchester United

A Yerevan reserve side managed a thumping victory against a strong United side to the delight of the home fans. We scored with three of our four shots on goal which was great to see the side so clinical.

We even got the victory after bringing on star striker Virgil Clay soon after the hour mark, and popped him in an unfamiliar centre back position for an experiment and a laugh, and he still had a good game, by scoring the third goal!

Special mentions for 16 year old midfield prodigy Lasson who scored his fourth goal in six appearances and Akbarov who got his eighth of the season from midfield.

The victory gave us a third place finish in the league which was above expectations and can be considered a fine first season. Hopefully we can make some squad improvements in the close season and push Yakuza harder in our bid to snatch the trophy away from them. Make the most of the trophy Bruffio - it is only yours temporarily!

It gives the manager nice selection choices to make for the midweek cup final with strong performances all round the pitch as we bid to finish the season on a high with our first trophy.

Yerevan Stealth - Manchester United

Last game of the season with nothing to play for so it is all about getting abs for players that are young and wouldn't usually start a game.

We have the cup final to play in soon so we need to ensure our key players don't get injured. Every member of the squad has hit their minutes quota so we won't lose any on free transfers at the end of the season which is great news, although which players will stay is yet to be determined.

It would be good if we can do this game for the fans and for them to have something to cheer, which could be highly likely as our recent games have seen lots of goals, not least the nine in the cup semi-final.

Whatever the outcome, we've had a good season and it is something to build on for next year.

Yerevan Stealth 6 - 3 Rael Nerrad

Delighted but surprised at the same time that we managed to win this game in what was an all-time classic. An absolute fest of goals that would have been a delight for the neutrals as it was beamed around the world on live TV, even though there would have been very few without an allegiance of either side in the stadium.

Also astonishing was that none of our six goals were scored by a stiker, with midfielders taking centre stage. We started well with Ivanildo Ze scoring after three minutes before getting his second less than 20 minutes later. With Yaqoob Hoque scoring a goal either side of Ze's second we'd scored four at the break with Nerrad responding with two of their own.

We awaited the second half onslaught from Nerrad which didn't come as we further extended our lead with Hoque completing his hatrick and Kuzman Jodi getting his second in two games from defence before a consolation scored by Nerrad.

In truth we were probably the better side on the night based on the stats of 57% possession in our favour and eleven shots on target to their five. Perhaps questions will be asked of Andrewsen in the Nerrad goal with supporters asking why the player manager didn't select himself. He is perhaps wondering the same in retrospect, which is always a great thing. For us to score more than 50% of our on target efforts is quite exceptional, but equally so did Nerrad with Shubb not having his best game ever.

We would same it was a match that will be talked about for the goals and the attacking play, but perhaps equally it will be what on earth Virgil Clay was doing to not manage to get on the scoresheet himself, with only one shot in the game.

So we're proud to have got the club in to the final of this competition but have an exceptional tough game against Sarnians to look forward to at the end of the season.

Yerevan Stealth - Rael Nerrad

This is the game that will define our season but we're up against formidable opposition in Nerrad who stuffed us last time out in the league. We have a full strength squad available and are ignoring any slight fitness concerns as we select our strongest side.

We're fortunate that all players bar one have hit their minutes quota for the season with defender Andre Pelov the only one not to due to a number of injuries, so hopefully he lasts 25 minutes of the game as he will then have hit that milestone too.

We have the choice between three or four at the back and one or two up front so we have picked the side that we think is the strongest. Young prodigy Lasson may therefore be sacrificed for a second striker as on paper Onio is a better candidate but the actual selection will be guarded right until kick-off. Franklin Wolf is pushing for a start in defence too as we know this boy is quality and can score goals too.

They have a strong line-up with a quality striker going for the golden boot so we need to be on our guard but should we play to our potential then we have a chance, which indeed both teams have in what is a one-off game. We've been preparing for this for a number of weeks so hopefully we can do the job and at least have a final to show for a relatively strong inaugural season.

CONGRATULATIONS TO BRUFFIO AND KYUSHU YAKUZA FOR WINNING THE TITLE!

Darlington 1 - 3 Yerevan Stealth

We've started to find some form albeit a little bit late for any impact at the top. A great performance and victory ahead of the important midweek cup game.

We were set on our way in the first minute when Kuzman Jodi found the net for his fourth goal of the season and really never looked back in a game we dominated. Whilst they equalised in the first half they were always up against it when they went down to 10 men after their crazy player decided a head butt was a good course of action in an off the ball incident the referee spotted.

We sealed the game in the second half when 16 year old prodigy Lasson scored again along with fellow midfielder Ze. We had twenty one shots on goal to their five so the score could have been greater had it not been for arguably the man of the match Bartlett in their goal.

So all focus is on the midweek cup semi-final against Nerrad which will be tough before an end of season pointless league game against Manchester United where we'll just go for abs on young players so will lose the match.

Darlington - Yerevan

We go in to this game with one eye on the midweek cup game. That said we still pick a strong team for this game that we believe can win although the result isn't important.

We bring back missing players from the last game such as Virgil Clay up top and Andre Pelov in defence who needs game time to hit his minutes quota having signed in the second half of the season and been injured a lot. We pray he doesn't get injured in this game as a result.

Congratulations need to go to Bruffio and his dirty Yakuza side who wrap up the title today.

Yerevan Stealth 3 - 0 Gyergyoi

A comfortable and somewhat convincing win in this end of season anti-climax fixture. We changed our team around with recent signing Lasson scoring twice from midfield, and he could have had more. At only 16 years of age he seems like one hell of a signing so lets hope he keeps his promise and develops even further. Akbarov scored our other goal with all of them coming in an exciting first half before we took our foot off the pedal.

We had a mighty 24 attempts on goal so this could have been even better but we're happy with three goals and a clean sheet, restricting them to only 5 shots which is pretty good for the three man defence we went with.

We'll have tougher challenges, not least with the midweek cup semi-final where we may need to revert to four at the back as it will be a tougher test. This however, was a good result to put us in a confident position going in to that game.

We still sit in third place in the league and have a chance of second if we win our remaining games but let's not jump too far ahead of ourselves at this stage.

Yerevan Stealth - Gyergyoi

With the season drawing to a close it is time to experiment with formations and selections and with three first team regulars unavailable for this game it is somewhat forced upon us anyway.

Andre Pelov, Franklin Wolf and Virgil Clay are all missing (it definitely makes for a colourful roster!) so it will be an opportunity for Saul Levitt, Dario Onio and 16 year old Lasson to stake a place for a cup place when that match arrives.

We don't expect to win this one as a result of these changes but to be honest with most teams close it has been difficult to predict the result of any game really so always a surprise reading the match report! That said, league champions elect Yakuza have been consistent all season so it is pretty obvious which ways their results go so it should be mathematically certain this week that the inaugural title goes to Japan.

Pompey Chimes 4 - 2 Yerevan Stealth

A great performance in a game that we dominated from start to finish with more possession and more shots, just somehow they scored more of their chances.

We went with a number of changes to our side as results don't matter at this stage of the season so it was great to see some of the players that don't usually play put on good performances.

Our goals were scored by defender Blislu and substitute Onio which was pleasing especially as Virgil Clay is struggling for goals. He will now be suspended for the next game almond with Franklin Wolf and with Andre Pelov still injured it gives others a chance for next week.

We'll keep rotating our side and trying to play exhibition football for the remaining league games with the cup the only time for seriousness before the season end.
