Helsinki (5) vs Hartlepool (3)
Second leg sees Helsinki bringing a two goal cushon into the home leg. Hartlepool have it all to do with Olaff seemingly dying from exhaustion but still playing every minute and the defence looking jaded too. Denke is suspended in midfield for the visitors. Helsinki have a full squad to choose from but Taylor will be left out the squad to get a much needed rest.

The lead isn't sufficient to be playing a second string so expect a strong XI from Helsinki as they won't want to risk slipping up against Hartlepool.

Bombay 0 - 4 Helsinki
The travelling fans feared the worst when they saw a 5 man defence and counter attacking style for the home side. Would it be a bore draw? Would Helsinki's diminishing title hopes take another blow? Thankfully the Hellhounds found their shooting boots and were in super efficient form this weekend. HarrisJones got them on their way with his first goal in a while, then Taylor got the second just after half time. The strength of the bench then came to the fore with Bjelica coming on to score one and assist one with Shynkarenko getting a goal too. That rounded off a fantastic 4 - 0 away win.

Results elsewhere meant that Helsinki climbed back inside the top three with Yakuza and Eagles sharing the spolis. The gaps to Sarnians remains 4 points and Nerrad 2 points. Looking at the player stats Karrar is now joint 4th on the goalscorers list for Div One with 12 goals (tied with 3 other players), but still some way off Asayag who leads the way on 17 goals. Lyle Warwick is joint second with 6 assists but miles off the league's best player Oli Marcentos on 13 assists (yes THIRTEEN!). Most passes reads well with Shynkarenko (58), Wariwkc (54) and McClare (47) all in top the 4. Shout out to Marcentos who made his 13 assists from just 45 passes, thats about 3.5 passes for each assist. Compare that to Warwick who needs to make 9 passes for each asssist. Finally we have Hikkara who is 6th on the most saves list with 169 saves.

EAGLES IN COMMAND IN LAST 16

Sunset Knights 0-5 Golden Eagles FC

Eagles dominated in the League Cup last 16 1st leg as they put one foot into the quarter finals. Juan Álvarez got the visitors off to a flyer as he poked home Kai Matsumoto's corner after 4 minutes. Julio Xavier made it 2-0 28th minute after picking up Vilo Fluess' lay-off as the Mexican nutmegged the keeper.

The scoreline could have been mich bigger going into the break, but Lev Yashin did his best to keep a rampant Eagles at bay. But there was nothing he could do about Pavel Chernyshev's piledriver shot on the hour mark, the Russian striker left Nick Carter for dead and buried the shot past his fellow countryman.

5 mintues later Fluess looked for a 1-2 with Jussi Härmäläinen, but the young Finn decided to keep hold of the ball, scoring with a lovely effort that Yashin couldn't keep out, 4-0!  Chernyshev grabbed his 2nd of the game and Eagles' 5th in the 74th minute from Álvarez's corner, great finish there, looked like they have been practicing that one.

Knights played out the final few minutes of the game with 10 men, after Tuto Oliviera came off injured with 6 minutes to go. A solid result for Eagles, as they put their blushes from last weekend's game behind them.

Helsinki 2 - 1 Dusseldorf
Helsinki countered their opponents from the off but a stubborn rear guard from the Dragons meant they made it to half time at 0 - 0. Was an unlikely point on the cards for the visitors? Thankfully the players found their shooting boots after half time. But the first goal came from an unlikely source, defensive midfielder McClare! Taylor got to a cross, headed it back across to McClare who arrived late to nod the ball into the net. 1 - 0 ! Shortly after that Shynkarenko got onto a loose ball, ran at the Dusseldorf defence and rifled the ball into the net, 2 - 0, game over? Perhaps not, as the Dragons found a goal back. Squeaky bum time for the final 20 mins but Helsinki limited Dragons to very little and had more chances themselves. 2 - 1 win and three points in the bag as they look to start a run and put pressure on the top three!

HOSTS' FIGHT BACK STUNS EAGLES

Sarnians 4-4 Golden Eagles FC

Eagles and Sarnians played out and 8 goal thriller as Eagles let a 3 goal lead slip that leaves them still 5 points behind the leaders. The visitors got off to a blistering start, Pavel Chernyshev played the ball through to Julio Xavier and the Mexican buried his shot passed Z. Zoffenheim after 9 minutes. 5 minutes later and Darío Bourrin took advantage of a rare defensive mistake as the Frenchman extended their lead.

Sarnians managed to gain some measure of control and captain Laszlo Kiss pulled a goal back for the hosts in the 35th minute. Xavier then restored Eagles' 2 goal lead in the 56th minute as he rose to beat Kai Pavlov and scored with a powerful header. And things got even worse for the hosts 3 minutes later, as Chernyshev stunned everyone by putting Eagles 4-1 after a mistake from Ember Tuipers!

Then the gamed turned on its head, as Eagles switched up their formation to preserve their lead, but this change in tactic back-fired almost immediately! As on the hour mark, B. Tanaka made it 4-2 after he intercepted Dustan Huevo's poor back-pass. And a couple of minutes later Kiss scored a wonderful solo goal as the captain got his side to with in touch distance of being back on terms.

More disaster struck for Eagles in the 66th minute, as a clearly frustrated Amadeus Rahr pulled down Codi Domino as the Jamaican winger ran past him. And as the German was already on a yellow card, the ref sent him off! Eagles then had a penalty request denied after Kiss hacked down Darío Bourrin a couple of minutes later. The ref called it the other way somehow though, he thought the Frenchman made a meal of the challenge, bad call that, just as Eagles needed a bit of luck.

Sarnians captain Kiss rounded off an amazing comeback in the 78th minute as the hosts drew level, 4-4! And it was Eagles fans' turn to be stunned into silence. Both sides a chances to claim a dramatic winner with Rafael Alvarado denying Domino right at the death with a stunning save!

"It was a bittersweet result for us, we are grateful for an away point to a team such as Sarnians. However, we gave up a 3 goal lead in a game that we were fully in control of. We took our foot off the peddle, when we should have kept pushing them and our hosts punished us for that." Commented Dave Rosewell.

🐍⚔️🟥 Red‑Card Fury and Missed Chances — Cobras & Ironworks Fight to a Chaotic 0–0 Draw
The Snakepit roared from the opening whistle as Delhi Cobras tore into the match with fearless aggression. Varuni Chetti twisted past defenders with dancing footwork, unleashing early strikes that sent ripples of panic through the Ironworks back line. Dasra Munshi followed with a wicked turn and a shot that clattered off the post and back onto Huolier’s spine before rolling wide, leaving the keeper — and the crowd — stunned. Every attack felt like a spark on dry tinder, yet somehow Thames Ironworks survived the opening firestorm.
Ironworks then grew claws of their own. Puerte Feurto launched an acrobatic bicycle kick, Gil Ramos surged forward with venom, and David Newman tried to force the breakthrough — but every moment of danger crashed against the unshakeable presence of Dyal Lata between the Cobras’ posts. The midfield became a battlefield of sliding tackles, crunching challenges, and desperate clearances. The tension rose with each missed chance, each gasp from the supporters, each ball rolling agonisingly wide of the target.
Then came the explosion. In the 88th minute, Raya Herreira lost his composure and flew into a reckless two‑footed lunge, earning a straight red card 🟥 and igniting fury in the stands. With Ironworks down to ten, Cobras threw everything forward — crosses, volleys, long‑range efforts — but time and luck betrayed them. Huolier clawed out the final attempts, and when the whistle cut through the chaos, the scoreline held at 0–0, a match overflowing with emotion, mistakes, brilliance, and drama.

⭐ Top 3 Players — Delhi Cobras

🧱 Guialli Pyus — Immense defensive reading and a constant wall against Ironworks pressure.
🧤 Dyal Lata — Brilliant saves, flawless positioning, and complete command of the penalty area.
⚡ Varuni Chetti — The spark in every Cobras attack, carving open chances with pace and flair.

⭐ Top 3 Players — Thames Ironworks

🛡️ Richard Jones — Man of the Match; four perfect tackles and unwavering defensive control.
⚔️ Puerte Feurto — The most dangerous forward on the pitch with skill, power and invention.
🧤 R. Huolier — Key saves throughout, especially in high‑pressure late moments.

🐍➡️💎 Final Match as Delhi Cobras
This transition is especially symbolic, as the club’s most recent fixture marked the final match ever played under the Delhi Cobras name. The match now stands as the closing chapter of the Cobras’ history — an emotional farewell to a legacy defined by resilience, passion, and identity — before stepping boldly into the future as Bomb’ay Sapphire FC.

Rebranding Overview: Delhi Cobras → Bomb’ay Sapphire FC
After years of competing as the Delhi Cobras, the club has undergone a bold transformation, relocating to the vibrant city of Bombay and reemerging under a new identity: Bomb’ay Sapphire FC. The move marks a fresh chapter for the team, which will now play its home matches at the modern Tata Stadium, positioned to become one of the city’s iconic football venues.
The new name draws inspiration from two key elements:

“Bomb” – a nod to both the city’s historical nickname Bombay and the explosive, high‑energy playing style the club aims to embody.
“Sapphire” – a playful reference to the renowned British gin, symbolizing clarity, precision, and a premium, polished brand image.

Together, these elements create a distinctive identity that blends local heritage with a touch of international flair. Bomb’ay Sapphire FC represents ambition, creativity, and a renewed commitment to winning, while carrying forward the spirit of its origins in Delhi.
