Thames Ironworks produced a disciplined away performance to defeat Reykjavik Reapers 2–0 at Paragon Stadium. The first half was tight, with goalkeeper Huolier making several key saves as Reykjavik created the better chances. The game shifted after the break when L_Orford broke the deadlock on 64 minutes, his effort from a corner squeezing past the keeper. Just three minutes later, PUERTE_FEURTO doubled the lead with an acrobatic overhead finish following Nevillw_Poppy’s cross. With the advantage secured, Thames switched to a defensive setup and controlled the closing stages. R_Huolier’s six saves and a Man of the Match display from Nevillw_Poppy ensured a solid and well-earned victory.

EAGLES ADVANCE!

Golden Eagles FC 5-2 Sunset Knights

Eagles progress to the League Cup semi-finals with an overall 10-2 aggregate win over Knights. With the visitors needing a miracle, they had set up with a very aggressive 4-3-3 and went straight for the jugular. Knights thiught they had earned a penalty after only 3 minutes, Tarik Törmänen looked to have committed a foul on Josiah Key, but a free kick was given thr other way instead!

However, it didn't take long for Knights to find a goal, Henry Nurse scored on the turn in the 10th minute with a wonderful piece of skill. However it didn't take long for Eagles to pull level with a deadly counter led by Juan Álvarez in the 20th minute. The Spaniard made a quick break, holding the ball up before Julio Xavier whizzed passed him, Álvarez threaded the ball through and the Mexican scored with a wicked dipping shot!

Álvarez then got a goal himself after a neat back-heeled pass from Asp Naslund 5 minutes later. And Xavier grabbed a 3rd for Eagles in the 31st minute as young Ragnar Varskjøld did well under pressure before passing to him and Xavier's shot cannoned in off the post.

And the Mexican striker completed a remarkable 17 minute hattrick in the 37th, with Naslund involved yet again, what a great game they are both having, Knights getting torn apart, 4-1 and it looked to be very much game over.

There was still some fight in Knights in the 2nd half however and Royston While grabbed a goal on the hour mark to make it 4-2, but there was still a mountain to climb. And the game was put well out of reach as subs Darío Bourrin and Jussi Härmäläinen linked up to score a 5th for Eagles. As the Frenchman squared the ball to the Finn, whose lovely control took him past his marker and he hammered his shot home. Varskjøld almost grabbed himself his first goal for the club in the dying minutes with a cheeky lob, but Lev Yashin plucked the ball out of the air. Still a great performance by the young Norwegian and manager Dave Rosewell will certainly be happy to see the younger players beginning to gel in well.

After the game, it was announced that Eagles will face AFC Coventry in the quarter-finals who finished 2nd in their group earlier in the competition.

💎⚔️🔥 Bomb’ay Sapphire Triumph in Extra‑Time Thriller — A Bold Fight Unlike Real’s Cowardly 5‑Defender Home Tactics
From the first whistle at Boleyn Ground, the match exploded into chaos and brilliance. Thames Ironworks charged forward with raw aggression, nothing like the timid, five‑defender “D tactic” that Real Madrid shamefully used at home earlier in the season — this was football played with courage. David Newman’s early strike sent the crowd into a frenzy, and Esparragurza’s clean first‑time finish made it 2–0 as Ironworks roared with confidence. But Bomb’ay Sapphire, reborn from the Cobras, showed their new identity immediately: Dysto Mehta danced past defenders, unleashed a precise top‑corner finish, and dragged his team back into the fight before halftime.
The second half turned into a storm of pressure, flicks, fouls and desperate defending. Bomb’ay Sapphire pushed the tempo, attacking with the freedom and swagger Real Madrid could only dream of when they hid behind five defenders. Bo Nix delivered the equaliser with a beautiful looping finish, shifting the momentum completely. Ironworks tried to respond, but Sapphire’s midfield — Acarya Shah orchestrating like a conductor, Vaknis chasing every loose ball — overwhelmed them. Every counterattack from Ironworks met a Sapphire defender sliding in with perfect timing, and every Sapphire surge forced Huolier into frantic saves as the match raced toward extra time.
In extra time, the match became pure theatre. Bomb’ay Sapphire struck the decisive blow in the 98th minute, when a chaotic scramble fell to Acarya Shah, who smashed home the winning goal as the away end erupted in blue flames of celebration. Thames Ironworks pushed desperately for an answer, but Bomb’ay Sapphire’s defensive wall — Khan, Munshi, Gupta — refused to break. When the final whistle cut through the London air, Sapphire stood victorious 3–2, a triumph built on bravery, pressure, and refusal to settle for the timid style Real Madrid once embarrassed themselves with. This was football with backbone — and Bomb’ay Sapphire proved their new identity shines brightest under fire.

⭐ Top 3 Players — Bomb’ay Sapphire

💎 Acarya Shah — Man of the Match; scored the extra‑time winner and dictated the entire tempo.
⚡ Bo Nix — Brilliant equaliser and constant threat drifting between lines.
🛡️ Guialli Khan — Rock‑solid defending with crucial tackles and fearless duels.

⭐ Top 3 Players — Thames Ironworks

🔥 Esparragurza — Scored and constantly threatened with creativity and forward drive.
⚔️ David Newman — Early goal and nonstop pressure on Sapphire’s back line.
🧱 Campari Torr+ — Key defensive stops, energy, and leadership at the back.

Helsinki vs Highland
The games keep coming thick and fast as Helsinki's squad is tested with games coming midweek and weekend during this period. It's helpful to have Maeta back for the foreseeable future, especially with Shynkarenko out injured for this one. Highland have found like touch in Div One this season, currently sitting bottom and in need of some wins to start climbing the table.

Highland are missing Rubios through suspension, but their squad is fully fit having had a rest in mid week. The make up of their squad with 9 defenders suggest a defensive mindset and potentially 5 at the back.

Helsinki will be desperate to keep the pressure up on the other title rivals with a win.

Helsinki 4 - 0 Hartlepool
With a two goal lead, there was still jeopardy in this tie. That joepardy got a little greater when Shynkarenko was injured on 10 minutes and left the game - thankfully he doesn't look to be out for a long period of time. Yuya Maeta, returning from loan at Rix was thankful to get some gametime under his belt as he made an early entrance.

The home fans didn't have to wait long for some comfort though with in form defender Bjelica revelling in his starting role and scoring on 16 minutes after being found by Shephard. Bjelica then turned creater for Jalen Hurts to round the keeper and slot into the net. On 31 minutes HarrisJones got in on the act and made it 3 - 0 and 8 - 3 on aggregate. Game over.

The second half was played out without too much incident. Both teams sent on reinforcements to keep the teams fresh and it was one of those substitutes Taylor who got the 4th and final goal after again being found by Shephard. Taylor thought he had a second a minute later but it was ruled out for offside.

Aside from the Shynkarenko injury, job done and safely through to the next round.
